CM212 Photojournalism Class Schedule

Come to each class meeting--assignments and deadlines will be given during class meetings.

If absent, it is the student's responsibility to check e-mail and/or NetLearn ASAP for the assignment list and contact the instructor for details. Because this class meets only once a week, students who miss 2 classes will drop a letter grade; students who miss 4 drop another letter grade, and so on.

According to the section of this course's syllabus called Automatic Grade Reduction, missed deadlines mean a 20-point reduction per day (a 24-hour period) for each day an assignment is late.

For example, let's say your assignment is to shoot photos at the basketball games Tuesday night, then save them to the network and label them by 1 p.m. Thursday. If you submit (save and label) them at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, you miss the deadline by 5 minutes causing your grade to drop 20 points. If you submit them at 12:55 p.m. on Friday, you miss the deadline by 23 hours and 55 minutes and the penalty is the same: your grade drops 20 points. However, if you submit them at 1:05 p.m. Friday, you miss the deadline by 24 hours and 5 minutes causing your grade to drop 40 points.
